-Additional Details-

Welcome to the Sonicomical-Club’s ‘Sonicomic’! This is a ‘jump-in’, or ‘fusion’ comic activity, where one artist makes a page and another artist jumps in and makes the next!

We want this event to be an open one for our members to express themselves however they like, But… for the sake of those taking over from you and those reading, we’re going to have to set a few guidelines and ground rules. If you plan on submitting a page, please read everything before you set to work! I know it looks like a lot, but it’s not that much to remember, we promise!

:bulletblue: Try to read every page up before you create the next one! It would be good to know the backgroud of whatever narrative you’re trying to add to, as loose as it may be.

:bulletblue: The title of your page must be ‘Sonicomic’ and whatever the page number is, so if you’ve just done page 21, your title for that deviation is ‘Sonicomic 21’. If you have room, you may add something else afterwards, but the title must include those things!

:bulletblue: Please only submit pages to the 'Sonicomic' folder! We want them to be easy to find for the readers, so they can't be scattered around in 'Featured'...

:bulletblue: Keep it PG! Excessive gore, innuendo, or strong language is totally unnecessary here, and will not make it into the comic. ‘Shocking’ is not another word for funny. Try to be more clever!

:bulletblue: Please do not delete pages or put them in storage! We want all the pages to be around for the readers to read long after you draw them! If you decide you want to deactivate your account, or delete/hide all of your deviations in the future, please let us know! If we’re allowed, we’d like to submit it exclusively to the club for you! If you don’t want your name on it, we won’t add it. =)

:bulletblue: Please don’t introduce fancharacters or characters from non-sonic continuities! We have nothing against them, but if we allow them into this comic, we’re afraid every other page will be a character introduction! Fortunately, the sonic cosmos has plenty of official characters to choose from, so I think we’re covered in that regard.

:bulletblue: Please don’t abandon what was going on in the last page. You’re adding to the story, not starting another one!

:bulletblue: We don’t care if the comic’s drawing style is not consistent! Feel free to draw pages in your own style. We don’t want you guys to labor yourselves with trying to copy another artist’s look! =)

:bulletblue: The comic absolutely must be read from left to right (the way English comics are read). We don’t want to confuse our readers by having to switch between the two formats!

:bulletblue: Please make sure any writing in the comic is readable! Nothing too small, no outrageous fonts, and if you’re going to write it by hand, make sure you write it very neatly!

:bulletblue: Make sure people can read your comic panels in the right order! Remember that people read the panels in the upper left first, and panels in the lower right last. Even if the character saying the line is on the right, make sure his/her speech bubble is more towards the left if he/she speaks first, and there is a good indication of who is saying it.

:bulletblue: If you can’t draw, but want to participate, write the next segment! However, please keep it brief – a paragraph or two (keep it less than 1500 characters), and submit it to the 'Sonicomic' folder as a literature Deviation. All we ask is that you write it in paragraphs rather than in script... it's not fair to those drawing if you just submit the dialogue.

:bulletblue: If no one submits the next page in over a week, the same artist may submit another in a row. =)

:bulletblue: It doesn't matter how many panels a ‘page’ has, or what composition you use. If your page is bigger horizontally than vertically, that’s fine! If your page is only one panel, great! If your page is an animation, awesome!

:bulletblue: If you don’t mind, we’d like all the pages to have ‘sonicomic’ and ‘sonicomical-club’ in their keywords, so you can find them in the search!

:bulletblue: If more than one page is submitted for the next page, the administration will have to pick which is the next! We will resubmit the other page to another folder if it comes to that. If this starts to become a big problem, however, we may need to put a different system in place. This deviation will be updated should that ever happen! (For this reason, try not to put a crazy amount of time into your pages. The last thing we want is for you to spend ten hours working on a page only to get beat out by a page someone hammered out in two. =()

Thank you for reading, and have fun! If you have any questions, please leave a comment here! =D
